$10,000 reward offered for information about slaying of retired DART employee

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information related to the recent slaying of retired DART employee Lloyd Carreathers.

The 61-year-old was found beaten to death on April 17 in an east Oak Cliff park near the 2800 block of Sargent Road. His 2006 silver Kia was found burned a couple miles from his body in the 4600 block of Kolloch Drive.

Police believe robbery was the motive for the killing.

Carreathers was last seen on the evening of April 14 at his apartment complex in the 2300 block of Highland Road in Far East Dallas. He had been hanging out with neighbors in the complex parking lot.

Oak Farms Dairy is offering the reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible.
