Trial resumes this morning for Dallas police officer accused of plotting robbery

The trial of fired Dallas police Officer Alph Coleman resumes this morning in a case where he is accused of being the inside man in the June 2008 robbery of a Red Bird-area Sam’s Club.

Christopher Johnson, the man accused of holding a gun to Coleman’s head during the robbery, just took the stand for the prosecution.

Another accused accomplice, Floyd Gibson, took the stand Tuesday. He testified that Coleman plotted the robbery inside his Duncanville apartment. He also said that Coleman provided the getaway and gun for the heist.

Coleman’s attorneys, Bill Wirskye and Tom D’Amore, have argued that Gibson and Johnson are lying to save their own skins.
