Assistant Chief Vince Golbeck has recommended that a Dallas police officer be fired after a blood test found her above the legal alcohol limit.
The recommendation came during a disciplinary hearing Thursday.
Officer Brandy Lindsey, 28, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Nov. 7 in Murphy.
According to police records, an officer pulled Lindsey over because she was speeding and driving erratically. The officer smelled alcohol on her breath and asked her if she had been drinking .
“Not a whole lot,” she replied, records state.
Lindsey refused field sobriety tests. But blood alcohol test obtained through a search warrant showed a level of .14, nearly double the legal limit.
The criminal case is still pending.She joined the force in 2006.
Last Friday, Police Chief David Brown fired two other officers over substance abuse-related incidents.
